Free Summer Activity for Young People
with Special Needs!
There is a free summer activity being held at Polesden Lacey, Great Bookham, near Dorking (RH5 6BD) where Head2Head Theatre will be staging an interactive drama activity based on Alice in Wonderland.
Polesden Lacey is a National Trust property and is providing free entry for each young person and their accompanying carer.
Awards For All have provided funding and can offer morning slots (11am) or afternoon slots (1.30pm) on either 27, 28, 29, 30 or 31 August. (Please note these dates are offered on a first-come, first served basis - the maximum numbers per session will be 12 + carers.)
Each session will last approximately one hour during which time the participants will explore the grounds, finding props and meeting characters from the story, before taking part in the tea party scene from Alice in Wonderland.
Head2Head Theatre will provide a sensory gazebo for the young people to enjoy and will put in place a wet weather contingency.
Before, or afterwards, you are welcome to stay and enjoy all that Polesden Lacey has to offer:
- restaurant, coffee shop & deli (hot lunches from 12-2.30pm)
- picnic areas
- wheelchair friendly paths
- powered mobility vehicles & courtesy shuttle
- beautiful grounds and gardens
- ground floor area of the house
- accessible toilet facilities (but no hoist)
- plenty of parking spaces
Family and friends are welcome to come along but, if not National Trust members, will have to pay an entrance fee.
Please contact Anni Rhodes at Head2Head Theatre if you are interested and, if so, what slot/date you would like reserved and approximately how many will be in your party.
