Testimonials from satisfied parents
-
"In the last year at Portesbery it was difficult with COVID 19, but Portesbery school has provided a lot of information over the past years on parents evenings, in annual reviews, with the booklet with potential new settings and phone calls and meetings. Always available for professional and up to date, child specific advice and information."
- "Portesbery are very proactive with getting parents to think about Post 19 options early on. The meetings held with education/social care/NHS were all well supported and organised by the school with the school writing up minutes and actions which is very helpful."
Information for Employers
-
We are always looking for employers in the area who would be willing to offer an experience of work to some of our students. This could be a one off visit, a visit of a hour a week for a few weeks or a longer term placement, depending on whatever suits you best. We would love to be able to give our students an experience of what it is like to work in different places and what different jobs entail. We have previously helped at a local primary school tidying the library, in the cafe at a garden centre, collecting plates and clearing tables and had a visit to behind the scenes in a supermarket. We would like to extend these opportunities for our students. We always send a member of staff along with our student. If anyone is able to offer anything, no matter how small we would be very grateful. Thank you for any help you are able to offer.
If you are interested in working with us to support our students, either by offering a visit or work experience or by coming into school to help in some way, please contact Jo Seldon (Post 16 Lead) on 01252 832100.
