Surrey Short Breaks - Parent Survey
Surrey Short Breaks for Disabled Children (part of Surrey County Council) is asking for parents' views on the availability of clubs, holiday schemes, befriending, and other short breaks for disabled children. Short breaks can provide a lifeline to parents that need a break from caring and to young people that need to develop life skills and to have fun with their peers or just on their own terms.
Using feedback from parents/carers, Surrey Short Breaks' hopes to come up with new ideas for activities and identify gaps in current services, so that the range of short breaks matches the needs of families in Surrey. In recent months thanks to feedback from parents, a new SEN club is being piloted in Spelthorne, a new cycling scheme 'Wheels for All' scheme is now operating out of Reigate, Guildford and West Ewell and at a strategic level, the team has expanded its reach to more parents with information about short breaks, as this was identified in the last survey as vital.
So if you would like to have your say, click here. The survey should take five to ten minutes and will be open until February 2013.
