Update - Friday 22 January 2021

Dear parents/carers

We hope you are all well and have had as good a week as possible in these challenging circumstances and with school only open to our critical worker children and a very small number of our more vulnerable students. We do know that all our students are vulnerable and we would love to be able to safely provide a place for all if it was possible. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any additional support or if we can help in any way. It is important that we are aware of all the challenges you may be facing.

There are currently no outstanding tests and there have not been any all week. You will have noticed that this is the first time for months that this has been the case. Let's hope having fewer students in school helps this to remain the case.

We hope that remote learning is going as well as can be expected and it is great to hear about some of the success stories and achievements at home. I know that our class teachers are all in frequent contact and please do ask them if you require any particular ideas, resources or support. We are always here to provide any additional advice, guidance and support.

Weekly testing of staff has been a huge success this week and we will be moving to a 2 x weekly system from w/c February 1st. This will provide us all with extra reassurance and help us to identify some asymptomatic cases we may have ordinarily missed. We recognise that testing negative does not mean we will become complacent and we will always remain vigilant in maintaining all our strict measures in place around social distancing, bubbles, hygiene and PPE etc.

The three staff who have most recently tested positive, are all now making a slow recovery and we hope to see them back at work as soon as they are well. They are appreciative of everyone's good wishes.

Hope you have a good weekend and let's hope for maybe a bit of sunshine and even snow on Sunday - that then clears for Monday morning as we don't need that complication as well.

As always, thank you all for your continued understanding and support.

Kind Regards

Nathan
